1. Whyyyy Sooo Serioussss-A! Says: .. and would thsu be causing Very Poor Fuel Economy?

I have a 1985 Jaguar XJ6 and i am wondering what i can do to 1) Determine IF it is Burning "A Lot of Gas" (How fast will ti use it?) and 2) What i can do to correct it IF it is running too rich.

Right now, it wont start, and i hear a "Poof" and see a "Puff" of Smoke my mechanic told me was Fuel, as the Distributor Cap was cracked... Im not Damaging it by trying to Start it, am i? (Havent since Yesterday.)

And its nice and warm 60 and 70 and above now.. i dont need to worry about the car "Not Starting" if i use 20W-50, do i? Seems the Oil pressure Gauge on the Dashboard cant be trusted, and what does "80Psi" Oil Pressure on a "65Psi" Relief valve mean, if running with "Above Relief Pressure" OK, someone said it just means a Spirng opens up, or is this Harmful?

Thanks!
