1. Lorna Says: ...Does this sound expensive to fix??
My car is a 1997 Renault Laguna RT and the steering itself feels fine. Its just noisy!!
2. Iona Says: it it's low, the fix is cheap and simple. If it's full, seek assistance.
3. Husker41 Says: Most likely your power steering fluid is low - check it and fill it up wit the right stuff.
4. DAV0 Says: if its got power steering it needs oil,if its making a noise at full lock,if not then have the bushes checked,1997 they are old and probs worn out and dry
5. Dreamii Says: it needs power steering fluid
6. dickie Says: The fixup cost could be anywhere from $1 (to spray some oil on a squeaky rubber bushing) to $1200 (for all new ball joints, CV joints, struts, and tie rods.)

It’s not going to get better on its own so take it in to be looked at. Better take along a big burly man to somewhat lessen the chances of a high estimate.
