How often should I recharge my A/C for my car?

(2010-05-30 10:04:49) 1. bmsl2009 Says: I have a Mitsu Galant 02 and I got the A/C recharged last year and were I live we have had a couple of hot days. When I put on the A/C for the first time it worked for like 5 mins then it wouldn't get cold anymore. Do I need to recharge it again ???? If so, is this going to be a yearly thing I will have to do? Then if you have no leak you need to evaporate the system.

This cannot be done yourself, a shop has to do it as it requires a special machine.

If you don't have a leak, you need to have it evaporated to pull everything out of the lines. (water, old frion, etc.)

After you get it evaporated, and there are no leaks, then, and only then, can you go to autozone and do the frion part yourself. (Not recommended)
