Need advice on getting tire out to replace with spare?
(2010-05-30 10:31:21) 1. Says: Need help, guys. My tire blew and I'm trying to get the tire out to put on the spare tire. I removed the bolts and everything. Tried to jiggle the tire around, it's not moving, it's not coming out. What can I do?2. Says: I usually put a nut or two back on loosely, and tap the back of the wheel with a hammer, while jacked up or supported by jack stands. The nut back on it prevents the tire from going flying when it comes off.3. Says: You need to jack it up first.
LMAO.
Put a jack under the rear axle and jack it up to get the tire off the ground.
You won't move a tire out from a 1 ton vehicle.4. Says: my car has a lift with its spare, usually form what i understand one comes with most cars... If not your going to need some kind of lift because you cant prop up a car normally, if you really need it try to get it on a bank so the tire you need to swap out is raised on higher ground, you know like make it so there is less weight on that side etc. Good luck man5. Says: The rim may be rusted to the hub. Try spraying some PB Blaster penetrating oil around the hub and let it sit for a while, then try knocking it off with a sledge hammer or kicking it.
You can also put the lugs back on, but leave them loose, lower the truck and roll back and forth a very short distance (a foot or so to and fro) until it works loose.6. Says: Give the tire a good swift kick. Tag: Need advice on getting tire out to replace with spare?
